Sberbank, Rambler close deal to create platform for restaurants

MOSCOW, Oct 4 (PRIME) -- Russia’s top bank Sberbank, Rambler Group of Alexander Mamut, GHP Group, and private investors Grigory Gurevich and Yevgeny Malakhov have closed a deal to create unified digital platform Foodplex for restaurants, the bank said in a statement on Thursday.

Sberbank’s share in Foodplex stands at 35%, Rambler owns 30%, while CHP Partners, Grigory Gurevich, and Yevgeny Malakhov own 35%. Foodplex unites digital marketing and payment system Plazius, media and booking service Afisha-Restaurants, system for booking of tables and hostess operations Smart Reserve, and UCS company – the developer of Russia’s largest restaurant automatization system r_keeper, the bank said.

“The ways of satisfying people’s demand for food are changing today. People often choose food cooked in delicatessens to cooking their own food. This is why the importance of retail cooking is growing, the number of public catering companies is growing, and services for booking places in restaurants and for delivery of ready-made food develop fast. I hope that the Foodplex project will become an important player on this promising and emerging market,” the bank said quoting First Deputy CEO Lev Khasis.
